Nataša (Cvitan )Stražičić, born in Zagreb, Croatia,
1973. Raised in a family where I was introduced to history of art through
my mom who is an art teacher in primary school I was lead to enroll
in school of applied art where I graduated as a fashion designer. I
had great teachers who recognized my love for art history and costumes,
and they helped me to develop more of my present skills. I continued
to work more on my knowledge thorough university for fashion design,
but realized that I needed more practical work and decided to leave
and add my self into something what I really loved and that was applied
art, mostly connected with home decoration. In this field I could express
my love for painting and decoration.
Working a lot with humans, I consider human feature quite interesting
that is why my motive is women. Most characters which I draw are imaginative,
and they represent certain self emotional states and my reaction to
the world around me.
Lydia, 2003, ( 75 x 77,
water colour, on paper)
Lydia is one of the pictures which I made in opus
with other few. Real women of God, from the Bible inspired
me to make paintings, to really see that there are normal
but at same time very special women. That they can be like
any one of us, but at same time strong in there walk with
the Lord. I wanted to fight the prejudice that people had,
concerning women from this time, and to put them in frame
of "everybody can be strong and courageous" only if they
want to follow the right path
.(250,00€)

Eva, (70 x 70. water colour,
on paper, without frame)
Eva is from same period like Lydia, Queen of Saab,
In Waiting and Queen Ester. (Queen Ester is in USA, given
as a present). Wanted to present Eva as Chinese, just to present
our constant need to present our ancestors like white, blond,
etc. We do not want to accept that she could look totally
different
. (250.00 €)

Queen of Sheba, (77x57,
water colour, pencil, on paper, without frame)
What we can see on right side of the picture, are
little drawings that represent in simplicity the queen's humble
spirit to seek God, and appreciation for wisdom which comes
from God. The first drawing from the top downwards represents
her, as queen and majesty, to whom everybody bows. 2. Represents
her deep desire to be herself fulfilled with something greater
then herself. The third represents the testing in her life,
which everybody who seeks for justice must go through. The
fourth represents her humility and bowing down in front of
her God. And the fifth drawing represents her part, and fullness
being full when she is with her God... (250, 00 €)

In waiting, (50 x 70,
mixed tehnic, on canvas)...
After sketches and drawings, this peace represents
our inner state when we are called to wait and be at peace,
at the same time our need to run, (as we see her other right
hand)... (1 000, 00 €)

The Blood of Jesus, (32x20,

This woman is sprinkled with Jesus' blood, the Bible
tells us, which means she is forgiven, and her sins are no
longer before him... (350, 00 €)

Everybody said thats me,
(130x50, oil on wooden frame)
.but it is not me. Many of my friends and me combined
in one woman. The symbols on left side are from my conviction
that there is no sign which man can make that is without meaning.
They are come from our feelings and our inner being. (3. 000,
00 €)
